About Us

Samuel Mengisteab
Principal of NW GeoSolar, Inc.

I came to the US as a refugee in May 1987, from a war-torn tiny country in Africa. I moved to Seattle in August 1987. Shortly thereafter, I attended North Seattle Community College. In 1990, I transferred to the University of Washington to study Mechanical Engineering. In 1994, I earned Mechanical Engineering Degree from the University of Washington. After graduation, I did an 8-5 for about a year. In the evenings and weekends, I sold Investment products and real estate to make extra income. Eventually, I was making more money from my part-time adventure than my full-time job. So, I decided to do real estate full time. Couple years later, I started my own real estate and mortgage companies. After doing real estate and mortgage for almost two decades, I wanted to do something more challenging and something that will make a sizable difference. Given my technical training, creative thinking, business acumen and the fact that there a huge need for energy-efficient and environmentally friendly HVAC systems, I jumped into the Geothermal business. Sure enough, Geothermal is challenging, beautiful and it is a technology that right and ripe for the time. With our formal training in Geothermal systems, various skills, creativity, and commitment to excellence, we are the company and the team that you need to bring your project to life.
